I'm all for page takeovers when they are clever, but this is ridiculous. (http://www.bigpond.com)
But this is just ugly. Takes away from the page content and also distracts from the advertising. More noise on a page that is already screaming at the user.
And these have been rolled out across afl.com.au as well.
No good.

I feel turned on by the Danoz approach to the ad skin.
Ouch! Mental note to self: never pitch backgrounds as inventory.
It's one of those things that seem to make sense until you see the creative.
And that's the most brand-destructive creative I've ever seen.
